Kevin Adams founded the Law Office of Kevin Adams in Livonia, MI in the year 2000, after working for many years prior as a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Adams rebranded the firm in 2019, and Adams Law moved operations to Plymouth, Michigan to better serve its clientele. Mr. Adams fostered the growth of his once solo tax practice to its now comprised multi-member, multi-attorney, boutique law firm focusing on the broad categories of tax, business, and estate law. The heart of Adams Law still centers on its tax practice; boasting two full-time CPA’s, Adams Law continues to file over 500 income tax returns every year.

Mr. Adams is a graduate of the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (B.A. 1978), University of Michigan-Dearborn (MBA 1983), and The Michigan State University, Detroit College of Law (J.D. 1997). Mr. Adams is a licensed attorney, Certified Public Accountant, and a licensed real estate broker in the state of Michigan. Mr. Adams is a former tenured college professor, and former program director of the American Bar Association’s approved Paralegal Studies Program at Henry Ford Community College, in Dearborn Michigan. He is a long-standing member of the MICPA, and the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the Michigan Bar. Kevin practices Estate Planning and Probate Law, Tax Law, Business Law, and Elder Law.

Philip DeLoach became an equity Partner of Adams Law in 2023. Mr. DeLoach started his legal career as an attorney in the State of Florida in 2014 and after moving back home to Michigan, began working for Adams Law in 2016, where for many years he learned the tax practice that is central to Adams Law’s operations.

Mr. DeLoach left the firm to work in the capacity of Vice President, General Counsel and Managing Broker for Michigan’s largest CENTURY 21 real estate brokerage franchise, and subsequently Chief Legal Officer of three privately-held warehouse mortgage lenders located across the United States. Mr. DeLoach returned to Adams Law in 2023, and continues to practice as outside general counsel for a number of businesses around the State. Mr. DeLoach adds a wealth of knowledge from the real estate and mortgage industries to the legal services already offered by the Firm.

Mr. DeLoach also prepares and reviews tax returns and advises clients on the legal and tax implications of individual, business and corporate transactions; he represents clients in IRS audits, Michigan Tax Tribunal hearings, and U.S. Tax Court proceedings, and otherwise focuses his law practice on business, corporate and tax law.

Mr. DeLoach is a licensed attorney in Florida and Michigan, a licensed Michigan real estate broker, a licensed Michigan professional investigator, a qualified Michigan real estate instructor, and a credentialed tax preparer. Mr. DeLoach is a graduate of Michigan State University (B.A. 2011) and Ave Maria School of Law (J.D. 2014).

Courtney M. Nagel

Ms. Courtney M. Nagel is an associate attorney at the Adams Law in Plymouth, Michigan. Ms. Nagel graduated from Michigan State University (B.A. 2008) and Thomas M. Cooley Law School (J.D. 2011). Ms. Nagel started working for her father, Kevin, when she was still in high school, and she remains the longest tenured employee at Adams Law, today. She practices Estate Planning, Probate and Contract law. Courtney enjoys practicing in the area of Estate Planning and Probate because she can comfort clients and provide them with peace of mind. Ms. Nagel also assumes the role of Office Manager at Adams Law, and helps to keep Adams Law and all of its operations running smoothly.

Ms. Nagel is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan, and is a licensed Michigan real estate broker. Ms. Nagel owns and operates Mitten Homes Realty LLC, and uses her knowledge of the real estate industry, and the inner workings of the probate and estate process, to help clients at Adams Law with their real estate sale and purchase needs throughout Metro Detroit’s tri-county area.

Marisa A. Kiefer

Ms. Marisa A. Kiefer is an associate attorney at Adams Law. Ms. Kiefer completed her undergraduate studies at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (B.A. 2015). Ms. Kiefer was a foreign exchange student at the Keio Law School in Tokyo, Japan in 2019 where she primarily studied international business law and commercial transactions, and  completed her legal education at UCLA School of Law (J.D. 2020).

Marisa focuses her practice on the acquisition, financing, selling, and leasing of commercial and residential real estate properties. Ms. Kiefer began her legal career in Detroit at Honigman LLP, where she gained valuable experience with a variety of property types, including office, retail, industrial, and multifamily. Marisa lives in Livonia, Michigan with her two German Shepherds, Yaress and Onya.


Anastasia N. Piwko, CPA

Ms. Anastasia N. Piwko, CPA, is a Certified Public Accountant, and head of the income tax department at Adams Law. Anastasia leads the team in filing over 500 income tax returns every year, comprising both individual and business/partnership tax forms. Anastasia is a credentialed tax preparer and represents clients in IRS and State of Michigan tax audits.
Anastasia assists the law office in a paralegal capacity during the off-season and focuses on tax optimization and tax planning for our individual and business law clients. Anastasia understands and advises on the implications the probate and trust administration processes, and helps clients navigate estate, gift, and death tax avoidance.
Anastasia graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.A. 2020) and a Master of Science in Accounting with an Emphasis in Taxation (M.S. 2021).

Cole Rivers

Cole is a recurring tax and legal intern with Adams Law, and is experienced in reviewing individual tax returns, real property deeds, and trust funding documents. Cole graduated from Michigan State University (B.A. 2023).
